The interdisciplinary teaching program Move your English is focusing on learning the English language through movement, dance and embodiment. Olivia Hild developed the program together with the educational NGO Yanshufim since 2015. Research shows that learning through movement makes us remember faster and longer and makes the learning all the more fun. MYE is being taught in Elementary Schools and Kindergartens in Tel Aviv and Jaffa, as well in Hebrew speaking schools as in Arabic speaking schools, teaching Jewish, Muslim and Christian students.
As a research-assistant Olivia Hild is working with Dr. Andrea Amort on a dance-exhibition in the Austrian Theater Museum in Vienna. Under the title Everybody Dances. The Cosmos of Viennese Dance Modernity Dr. Amort is displaying several key figures of Modern Dance that were active until the early 30s in Vienna, which was an international center point for modern, self-shaped, artistic dance. Some of these key figures migrated (or were forced to migrate) to Israel due to their Jewish Identity like Gertrud Kraus and the Ornstein sister. Hild is assisting with all the research relating to Israel.
Exhibition opening: 21.3.2019
Since 2015 Hild is teaching every summer in the Tanzwerkstatt in Vienna. The summer dance course is inviting children in the ages of 8 – 15 to participate in an engaging dance-week, where several choreographies are created together. Phantasy is transformed to creativity, restlessness to initiative, dance becomes the medium to work on the materials that move us.
